Today in art we photoshopped pictures. I took a picture of a ballon and added an eagle flying above it, ready to pop the ballon, and a man hanging on the string of the balloon. To successfully put the man and the eagle on the picture without it looking fake, I had to delete the backgrounds on them. Also, I had to reduce the size of the man and the eagle that way they were proportionate to eachother and the balloon. Once that was done, I moved the man to hang on the string and the eagle above the balloon.

Zebrocerous
In art we photo shopped a rhinocerous and a zebra. This created a Zebrocerous. First, we found a picture of a zebra and a picture of a rhinocerous. Then, we erased the backround behind the zebra so it was just a zebra on a white space. Then, we moved the zebra on top of the rhinocerous and moved it around and pulled at it so the zebra could fit inside the rhino. Then, we erased the zebra's legs and blended the zebra into the rhino so it could look like one animal. The Zebrocerous(:

Pastel Drawing
This is a picture drawn by pastel's. I drew it by looking at several objects such as a bottle, kettle, glasses, and a box. And all of the objects were placed on a table cloth. So, while looking at this image, I drew it with pastels and shaded them to look realistic. I had to look really close at all the objects to see all the different colors they had on them! In the end it turned out like this! (:
Ceramic Bowl
Here is a ceramic bowl. I took a slab of clay and rolled it out on a slab roller. Then, I drew the shape of my bowl on a sheet of paper so I could place the flattened clay on top of the design and cut out the shape of the bowl. After I cut out the shape of the bowl, I placed the clay in a bowl so the clay could be bowl-like. Then, I drew designs in my bowl and painted red clay over top of some parts to make the bowl more colorful. After alll the designs were done, I set out the bowl for a day to dry and harden a little bit that way I could take the bowl out of the other bowl and put it in the kiln. Once out of the kiln, I glazed it that way it could be put back into the kiln once more so my bowl has a glassy feel to it and look shiny. (:

Localized Perspective
In art, we did this project called "Localized Perspective". The point of the project was to draw & paint a picture on 3 boxes at odd angles & when looked at, at the right view point, the whole picture would come together. So, we projected a picture of a polar bear on to the boxes that were set up. Then, we traced the image on the boxes. Also, to create some humor, we used juxtaposition. That is when you use words on a picture that is usually the opposite of what your drawing, or ironic. So, on our colorful picture of a polar bear, we used the statement, 'a world of black and white'. This is ironic because the image is totally 100% full of color. Finally, when all of the picture including the juxtaposition was carefully traced onto the boxes, we painted them. Then, we put our project on display in the media center. The viewers will have no idea what they are looking at, but when they look through the view finder, they will know exactly what it is that they are looking at: a polar bear. The top picture is of the final product, with the boxes all put together. And the picture below is of us working on the project. It is of us tracing the picture on the boxes.

Spray Paint Stencil
For this project, I got a photo of my dog. Then, I put the picture on Adobe Photoshop. On Adobe Photoshop, I transformed the photo into a threshold image. The threshhold setting made the picture into 2 colors. Black and white. It also made the picture into a solid. After I printed the picture out, I traced the outline of my dog on a big sheet of paper. Then, I cut out the lines and out came a stencil of my dog! The stencil consisted of all the white that you see in the image above. With my stencil, I placed it on a piece of cardboard that I had painted white. I then took black spray paint and sprayed the whole cardboard. When I peeled back the stencil, the black spray paint had outlined the image of my dog and made my dog look so real.
I also made my own frame. I took a long piece of wood and sawed it into 4 smaller pieces of wood. Then, I nailed them together. With my wood frame, I stapled a piece of cardboard to the back of the frame. After, I painted the wood blue and the cardboard white.

Brick Mosaic Monkey
In art, as a group, we made a mosaic of a monkey's face. First, we found a picture of an animal off the internet. Then, we pixelated it on the computer. After the image was pixelated, we changed the colors of the image. Our colors we changed it were blue, green, yellow, and white. Then, we went outside and used chalk to draw the monkey on the bricks of our school building in the courtyard. The pixels were squared and each brick could hold 3 pixels. We got our chalk and colored the bricks different colors so the outcome would look like a monkey face.
