Localized Perspective

In art, we did this project called "Localized Perspective". The point of the project was to draw & paint a picture on 3 boxes at odd angles & when looked at, at the right view point, the whole picture would come together. So, we projected a picture of a polar bear on to the boxes that were set up. Then, we traced the image on the boxes. Also, to create some humor, we used juxtaposition. That is when you use words on a picture that is usually the opposite of what your drawing, or ironic. So, on our colorful picture of a polar bear, we used the statement, 'a world of black and white'. This is ironic because the image is totally 100% full of color. Finally, when all of the picture including the juxtaposition was carefully traced onto the boxes, we painted them. Then, we put our project on display in the media center. The viewers will have no idea what they are looking at, but when they look through the view finder, they will know exactly what it is that they are looking at: a polar bear. The top picture is of the final product, with the boxes all put together. And the picture below is of us working on the project. It is of us tracing the picture on the boxes.
